Sage Accounting
Overall Satisfaction with Sage Accounting
I use Sage Accounting for regular bookkeeping and invoicing. I am a freelance creative so sending quotes and invoices, as well as tracking expenses for tax purposes. I find it convenient using the automatic linking between by bank (credit cards, chequing accounts) directly to Sage to help me track my expenses and auto categorize things.
Pros
- fairly easy to understand at a surface level
- user interface is pretty friendly
Cons
- not a ton of customization, especially in invoice templates
- sometimes the bank connection is faulty and disconnects, I'm not sure why. it's unclear to my how I can stop it from disconnecting as the reconnecting is time consuming
- the auto categorization of bank-linked expenses could be more intuitive. Sometimes it recognizes trends but only when the transaction wording is exactly the same
- the auto categorization of bank-linked expenses is sometimes buggy and creates duplicates, specifically when loading a new 10 transactions
- it has had a positive impact on my time and ease of use, once it was set up to my liking, it's made bookkeeping easier and less time consuming compared to worse softwares or by hand
- the bank linking has saved me a lot of time and headaches with manual entries but can be a little bit buggy
Sage Accounting is more intuitive and has more features than Wave. It's fit my needs a lot better but I think it costs more. I'm happy with my switch
