Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use SAP Analytics Cloud for our internal BI requirements. We use it to see how our sales teams are performing, what do our customers say about our products, and also to understand what is the ROI for marketing spends. The data comes from different sources and the software handles it seamlessly and provides meaningful insights. We use it in two business units.

Pros and Cons

Wrangling expression language feature works really well, it reduces most of the data modeling work which is otherwise done by an analyst.
Application loads real quick compared to tableau or other similar tools.
SAP Analytics Cloud Mobile App works really good, review the reports on the go.
Its robust ability and speed of how it processes data from a variety of third-party sources.
Frequent updates makes this a competent BI tool in the market.

An option to share the story outside the company, similar to Google Data Studio.
The company can look into the pricing model a bit more; there are similar tools with similar features in the market with less price.

Return on Investment

We have seen more positives than negatives. Positives: Our data was haywire and very messy. With this tool, we were able to model the data well and we were able to find more insights on what works well and what doesn't. These insights have really helped us to understand where we need to invest our time more.

Alternatives Considered

Google Data Studio

Apart from SAP Analytics Cloud, we use Google Data Studio for very basic projects. Unlike SAP Analytics Cloud, Google Data Studio does not have any smart features or predictive analytics. We use it for very basic reporting.

Google Data Studio

Usability

We use SAP Analytics Cloud as our prime BI solution. I would say it is a complete BI solution from data modeling to predictive analytics. It is an end to end BI solution on the cloud. We are really happy with this purchase and we would plan to stick with this tool for a long time.

Support Rating

Support was good. We had called a couple of times during the tool issues, and we were given the solution quickly.

Likelihood to Recommend

If you are SAP User, you should definitely use it. Well Suited: For companies who are small or large who want to run the whole BI stack on the cloud without any issues. Less Appropriate: For startups who do not want to spend much money on the BI Solution. There are other similar tools that can offer the same features at less cost.
