Overall Satisfaction with SAP Analytics Cloud

we use it to develop new analytic products that allow us to track all aspect of capability within defence. There has traditionally been difficulty when i comes to tracking disparate sources of data, and previously we could not aggregate the data to have a holistic approach to analysing capability and key performance metrics on readiness. Using SAP and SAC allows us to aggregate this data an interrogate previously separated data sources to provide senior leadership a clearer picture previously not available to them

Pros

  • aggregates data into a single report
  • ease of use
  • large amount of options for visualisation

Cons

  • the time taken for the data to refresh when changes are made, though this might be an internal issue not SAC based
  • I love it and look forward to using it to exploit our data in the future
  • this platform has already made strategic impact on defence
the platform is easy to use, the delay we have in its use and functionality is based more with the massive amount of data it is trying to analyse over the platform itself
Power BI cannot use the live data like SAC, nor is it as intuative

Yes

we have already used it to develop reports that have made significant strategic change within defence. The SAC is allowing commanders to see data in real time, in a dynamic environment.

Where it is not suited is when reporting on unstructured data. this could be in regards to feedback, incident narrative, and other free text fields that may need to be reported on. That being said the development of AI and machine learning tool to interrogate the unstructured data to pick out key terms and phrases could mitigate this shortfall
