Overall Satisfaction with SAP Analytics Cloud

SAP Analytics Cloud is widely used in our organization. Product Control Team use SAP Analytics Cloud to drill down the data as per their need . SAP Analytics Cloud is really accustomed to connect to HANA models and the analytics engine is very streamlined to generated deep dives in seconds. It really help the team to do on time reporting and help the organization earn good results.

Pros

  • Brilliant representations of the stories
  • Blend the data from various sources
  • Forecasting and Budgeting is a very good use case for SAP Analytics Cloud

Cons

  • Difficult to migrate BOBJ reports to SAP Analytics Cloud
  • SAP Analytics Cloud is not very capable of reporting drilldowns to the granular level
  • It becomes slow when aggregations have to be done from lowest level.
  • Excellent Story ideas gives good visuals to senior management to take decisions
  • Migrating from BOBJ to SAP Analytics Cloud is challenging as SAP Analytics Cloud is not supporting old BW/BO models
  • All scenarios are not supported

Our org selected SAP Analytics Cloud due to its brilliant integration capability with SAP models.
HANA/BW/BO etc which save development efforts and resource costs.
SAP Analytics Cloud stands hand in hand with any other similar viz tool in the market and has capability to compete with them using data from multiple resources.

If you have aggregated tables SAP Analytics Cloud is brilliant to generate stories in short time.
There is problem in migrating BOBJ models to SAP Analytics Cloud as all scenarios are not supported. SAP Analytics Cloud is not very capable of aggregating data from BW models and blending huge data.
SAP Analytics Cloud is good for story telling and forecasting scenarios.

  • PNL Reporting
  • Regulatory Reporting
  • Reconciliation Reporting
  • Slicing Dicing data for forecasting
  • Organization is still in talks with SAP to find out if entire landscape of BOBJ can be migrated to SAP SAC
  • Technology team is evaluating the ways for automated reporting for Batch completion for liquidity.
  • Dashboards are refreshed automatically for near live reporting.
  • Management is in talks with SAP to find out additional ways for Forecasting scenarios.
SAC has been go to tool for interactive dashboards and stories. Management finds it easy to go through stories and take decisions. Super users find it easy to create their own stories for presentations.
