Overall Satisfaction with SAP Ariba

In my company we use SAP Ariba to mange the procurement and supplier related processes. It helped us a lot in sourcing suppliers and negotiating contracts while ordering goods. Before we used to depend on manual work spread sheets, paper contracts which made things very slow. It made supplier onboarding easier instead of using emails, contacts, documents.

  • User Interface: The user interface is really outdated and unintuitive. It will be more difficult for casual or first-time users.

  • Cost Savings from Strategic Sourcing: SAP Ariba’s sourcing tools has helped us a lot and reverse auctions are the best thing offered by SAP Ariba, we has improved supplier competition and visibility into total cost of ownership.
  • Supplier Risk Management: SAP Ariba’s supplier lifecycle management helped us in screening and monitoring vendors for risk, compliance, and performance metrics.
  • Operational Efficiency and Headcount Optimization: SAP Ariba has helped our procurement team in handling more transactions with fewer manual work.
SAP Ariba provides robust functionality and also covers the full spectrum of procurement an supplier management. For procurement professionals, it’s would be the best system that gets the job done easily. But for new users or casual users it would be difficult to understand , the overall usability is not as intuitive or user-friendly.

Moving to the cloud was the best thing we did. As SAP Ariba is fully cloud-based platform it has reduced our infrastructure burden and also made it easier to deploy updates, patches, and new features.


It also made onboarding across faster.

While ease of use was considered, we always prioritize functionality and integration rather than simplicity and SAP Ariba was the perfect choice.

SAP Ariba is an amazing platform for companies that are looking to streamline procurement, sourcing, and supplier management processes. It provides mot capable thinks like supplier onboarding, sourcing events, and contract lifecycle management. However, some usability and customization limitations prevent it from being a perfect fit for every situation, especially for smaller or less tech-savvy vendors.
