Overall Satisfaction with SAP Concur

SAP Concur is used for travel request management and travel expense management at our company. SAP Concur provides an integrated travel management solution to create travel requests linked to a project or cost center and the expenses incurred in the travel are booked to the corresponding project / cost center with necessary approvals.

Pros

  • Easy to book flights and hotels
  • Provides end to end tool for travel management
  • Easy to submit the expense report

Cons

  • Ease the expense report submission. Currently it's time consuming and too many details to be filled for different types of expenses
  • Preload the known expenses based on the travel itinerary like travel allowance
  • Employees can plan and book their travels, no need of dedicated travel desk which reduces the costs
  • Employees have the flexibility to book the options that suits their requirements and fits company policy
Overall, the user interface is simple, and self-explaining, provides all possible options and allows users to book the option as per their convenience. We can filter the search based on the airlines, travel class, duration which is very efficient for planning the travel. We can also plan multi-city travels with this tool. Overall, great user experience.
SAP Concur is integrated with SAP S4 HANA. We are project driven organizations, and we can plan the travel costs and employees can book the travel requests linked to a project or a cost center. This allows to book the travel costs (actuals) to the project / cost center which allows us to report the travel plan vs actuals.
I don't remember using any tool for travel management in the past. We had dedicated travel desk in my previous organization which used to help us with the travel booking. The process was completely manual where the travel requests were approved through mail and the communication with the travel desk was through mail. There was no tracking of travel costs.

SAP Concur is well suited for all companies that want to manage and integrate travel management with SAP S4 HANA. It provides end to end solution starting with travel planning to travel submission and later expense report management. Suited for large and medium size organizations that are running on SAP, less suited to small size organizations.
