All Around Okay for Inventory & Sales Reporting
Overall Satisfaction with SAP Datasphere
We use SAP as the inventory, and pricing database for all products globally at out company. I personally use it for web pricing and inventory, however the retail team can also separate things by retail, and warehouse. So we can have separate pricing for retail stores and web store.
Pros
- Price adjustments
- inventory allocation
- sales reports
Cons
- ease of use
- could use a refreshed UX experience
- data doesn't always flow back to SAP as we would want it to from salesforce
- One software used for sales tracking
- Provides detailed sales reports
- makes price updates easy
SAP is our master data holder as every sale, return, ect flows down to SAP as the end point no matter what the sales channel is. It has simplified it in a way that we are able to track all sales from all channels through one program which has been very beneficial. However, the program is very complex with a large learning curve.
SAP has connections to our 3rd party vendors such as LINC for returns Cybersource for credit card authentication, channel advisor and salsify for catalog management. The harmonization of these has allowed for ease in managing web inventory, orders, and returns through our webstores as the data flows through these softwares back to SAP or vice versa with little to no manual work needed.
I would say yes - however I do no deal with reporting in my role. I would say finance gains greater value as they are able to gather accurate reporting from SAP
I have not had any experience with machine learning features in SAP. I do not think the version we are using has the capability or if newer version have this capability in general,
