Overall Satisfaction with SAP HANA
HANA is being used across the organization. It addressing the performance of data access like SELECT and also data compression.
Pros
- SAP HANA is a great DB for ERP. It helped us to complete the month end runs within couple days. It provides speedy access to data in real time. It eliminates the data copies by storing data in columns format and allows for faster loading and uses less memory.
Cons
- If possible, I would like to see more user-friendly applications or dashboards for administrators. Right now, we have to execute various reports manually to pull data from HANA DB like "Active Statements", "Highest memory consumption transactions/SQLls", "Database growth rate", etc..
- We have very high ROI with HANA. It helped to complete the transaction and process on time. Also, it helped to eliminate a lot of manual processes.
Yes we have a huge benefit with HANA. Its speed helped to cut down a lot of manual processes and COTS or 3rd party applications.
We have a lot of interfaces with various data types. Using HANA, it helped to ease the data integration and consolidation.
We can complete our report with various calculations within HANA by integrating R server access to HANA. This helped to cut down the data movement from one location to another location to complete the calculation.
We have invested and have been running many SAP applications. HANA was selected for many reasons. One of them is the cost and knowledge based with in the company.
