Overall Satisfaction with SAP HANA

It is used globally. We have several landscapes already on Hana and will keep migrating other landscapes to it. It does not address problems but mainly improves performance as well as allows us to get rid of other databases.
  • It is obviously faster than other DBs we have.
  • It is more reliable and prevents unplanned downtimes, especially when using Hana replications to make it HA / DR like we do.
  • It is easy to manage. Not a lot of parametrization is required and it runs smoothly even when keeping default params.
  • It is easy to install.
  • It would be good if we could virtualize all DBs even in production.
  • Hana dynamic tiering is not yet officially released with HA/DR. Furthermore, it sounds like not many companies have a great amount of experience with it, therefore I'm wondering if it is reliable.
  • Because it is much faster, people can run reports multiple times if required within a short amount of time, and obviously, they get their reports much quicker and thus can work on the next steps or other stuff right after.
  • Ultimately we can get rid of the Oracle contract which is very expensive.
None, we've been on Oracle and migrated to Hana.
Often it is sometimes hard to reach the right experts at SAP to solve issues.

Do you think SAP HANA Cloud delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with SAP HANA Cloud's feature set?

Yes

Did SAP HANA Cloud live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of SAP HANA Cloud go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy SAP HANA Cloud again?

Yes

It is well suited for big reporting where we see a lot of huge improvements in terms of response time. It is less appropriate for very small systems or PI-like systems, therefore the cost is not worth it.
