Overall Satisfaction with SAP HANA

SAP HANA is being used in my department. It helps my client in real-time analysis of their business. Based on this analysis they can make quick decisions to further enhance their user experience.

Pros

  • In-memory data processing makes it faster.
  • Parallel processing helps in processing huge amount of data.
  • Easy-to-use UI.
  • Connected to different data sources easily.

Cons

  • HANA Application Life Cycle management portal needs to be improved for faster collection of Transport Requests.
  • Sometimes server got hanged while dealing with a large amount of data.
  • Not compatible with every operating system.
  • Requires larger RAM size than usual.
  • My client is happy with the real-time processing capability of HANA.
  • Learning HANA is also easier. So less training cost is required.
  • Installation cost is little bit higher but for its capability it can be managed.
  • Columnar storage of data in HANA provides more data in less space.
Yes, our main purpose behind switching to HANA is the real-time analysis capability. We can track our product life cycle on a real-time basis and make quick decisions to improve our business.
Data is coming from different data sources in different formats. We can use this function of HANA to provide user a complete picture in his/her desired data type.
Complex business logic can be simplified using different types of calculation views and procedures. Also as per user demand we can put security over data using analytic privilege of SAP HANA . All these combinations make HANA great for embedding complex business logic.
Its processing speed is much slower as compared to HANA. UI of HANA is much better and easier to learn for a naive.
People are always available to address your concern 24/7. They will help right from its installation. They have sound knowledge about HANA and address your problem with ease, keeping in mind that you should be satisfied.

SAP HANA is well suited for real-time data analysis. It is suited for tracking a product life cycle right from its manufacturing to user hand over.
We should avoid HANA for historical data storage and analysis purpose.
