Overall Satisfaction with SAP HANA
Primary database for SAP ERP (ECC) systems and also extensively used for for business intelligence purposes. BI reports on ECC (RTR, PTM) are developed using SAP HANA platform. SAP HANA is also used for one client as data processing (normalized database) tool using modeling features and then to process it to SAP RAR system.
- Easy Implementation/ Development.
- Performance.
- Easy to transition/application support.
- Bugs in front end modeling tool.
- Price.
- UI Features.
- Costly implementation specially when project is only implemented for compliance purposes.
- Very complex Business Intelligence reports takes lots of time and effort and makes it a costly deal sometimes.
Yes, this feature has really helped clients in developing some BI reports where real time reports are required. Also, there were many cases where production data was not up to the mark so, these reports helped in quick analysis at financial month ends to fix data. Reports are run in multiple Iteration to fix the problems and save time. Usually BI reports based on BW takes 1 day to generate such analytics.
As of now these data types are not used much for any client reporting purposes. However, multiple PoCs are done to get familiar with these data types for any future implementations. These are indeed useful and makes reporting easier.
This is the feature I was talking about in one of the last reviews. Reports are build directly build on top of SAP ERP system to do the real time analytics and save time from moving data from ECC to BW and then generating reports. Also, this helps in fixing corrupt production data by running the BI reports in multiple Iteration.
