SAP HANA, standard edition
Overall Satisfaction with SAP HANA
It's a great database management system that helps quick solutions. It's being used organization-wide for data analytics and real-time database can also be fed into the system and a brief outcome gives us the idea for important decisions on further steps. The monthly report generation gives an overlook of the performance.
Pros
- SSO enabled authentication
- Database management system
- Data driven
Cons
- Storage cost can further be reduced for small enterprises to afford
- Better compression of data could help save lot more space
- Can provide more customized visualizations
- Reduces the time spent on data analysis
- Better visualization of the dashboards
- Data compression
Yes, it has obviously helped in the analytics of real-time data. It indeed helps us look into data when it's parsed and pushed to the database. In our case, we have a database that keeps updating the real-time data and this data is in turn used by SAP HANA to quickly provide the analytics as described in the form of visualizations/ graphs with any modifications or customizations required.
The export of monthly reports can be done in the form of a simple excel sheets which can be extensively used for other monitoring of the data. However, it also provides the customized visualization with a line/bar graph, a single json document for each set of data which can be further overlooked for detailed analysis.
Performance and statistics-related monitoring of network, cache/ connections are some really useful data for any business solutions and further decisions to be made. SAP has made it easy by automating these analytics by getting the data from the database and using it from there without having to copy it anywhere else. This makes it very useful.
Kibana from Elasticsearch is also one of the applications which provide data visualization with all sort of graphs and other charts. But SAP HANA has an edge over this as it provides you some automated report generations. It can also read real-time data with a wide variety of databases and not depending on a single data source.
