- Using SAP HANA Cloud as our persistence solution for all BTP apps
- HANA Cloud is fast, fully managed in-memory database with low TCO. We can fully focus on the development of use-cases.
- Scope of use-case: Transactional and anayltics apps across all extension use-cases for ECC

- Fast processing engine
- Fully managed by SAP, low administration effort
- Good support for cloud native development on BTP (with CAP, HDI)
Cons
- Better in-build monitoring capabilities
- Better workload management
- Better release management support (downgrade, upgrade to specific versions)
- Fast processing times
- Low TCO
- Low administration efforts
- Using HANA cloud for complex planning scenarios
- Huge improvements in processing time which is well received by the business
- Currently we are only using relational and text features of HANA cloud which is quite important for enterprise applications
- Spatial, graph and JSON currently not in use, however, open to use if use-case is requiring it.
- We are trying to push as much business logic into the database to be very fast
- Moreover we are using the federation capabilities (SDI, SDA) to combine several data sources
On the BTP stack, SAP HANA Cloud has no alternative which can compete in terms of performance and integration to the overall platform
