Overall Satisfaction with SAP Lumira Discovery

SAP Lumira helps to create the data visualization layer with self service analytical capabilities and well integrated to the backend core ERP system(s). Many out of the box templates and the accelerators make the work easy for the business intelligence. The data can be real-time and more trusted instead of siloed/redundant data.

Pros

  • Real-time analytics
  • Data visualization with more conviction and robustness
  • Integrated application with drill down to source data without redundancy

Cons

  • To be harmonized with other product offerings from SAP like SAC to avoid overlapping scope
  • The inclusion of process mining in the SAP Lumira framework
  • Made analytics real-time and trusted source
  • The portfolio is shifting to other SAP products like SAC
SAP Analytical Cloud is more advanced and go to product from SAP side and thus the use case identification and the need of the organization need to be looked into, before deciding the product. The performance of SAP SAC is also better than SAP Lumira, and SAP SAC is used for integrated planning (called Extended Planning and Analytics).

SAP Lumira is very good self service analytical tool with powerful capabilities. However need to look into other SAP products in BI space, like SAP SAC. SAP Lumira is more used for custom and complex analytical need in business intelligence area. Also SAP Lumira is going out of maintenance in coming future replaced by SAP SAC.
SAP is providing full support for SAP Lumira service, however as said earlier it is going out of maintenance in coming future and is being replaced by SAP SAC as per SAP recommendation.
SAP Lumira helped to create intuitive and real-time dashboards in a story format to the organization. However with new capabilities of SAP, like SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) providing more planning and analytical capabilities. Thus the identification of the use cases with the available products should be done. SAC is more integrated and the go to product in SAP roadmap.
