Overall Satisfaction with SAP Master Data Governance

This software is used throughout the university. Educational departments use it for student, attendance, course management and the students use the software to follow the courses. There are other units such as finance department, Human Resources and IT who use the program to follow employee payments, official leaves, office/building/room reservations and communication. All official decisions, meeting notes and documents are completed and delivered using the system.

We still use Moodle as an LMS but following all the features mentioned before in an LMS is impossible. Also, accounting, employee services and even some statistical data analysis are commanded thanks to SAP. It can be clearly said that SAP is a combination of a couple of different software from different business areas.
I haven't been using the support services individually. Instead, there are responsible units within the institution who train and support the users of the software in the institution. The service provided by these units are quite adequate and they probably get the service from SAP itself. That's why, I can assume that the support services are quite successful.
The utility of the software is quite adequate and high quality. However, especially for a new user it may be difficult to manage all aspects of the program without adequate and comprehensive training. Even when the training is complete, the users may need support for details throughout the process. IT is a useful software which is difficult to manage in a short time.
The templates for course management and educational planning were ready for the institution, so every department was provided with individual solutions, but now that the prebuilt content was useful and already proven to be working for educational contexts, the departments knew what they needed and the alterations did not take a lot of time. Implementation of most of the activities were thought beforehand and the departments could practice the use quickly to be time effective.
As mentioned before, employee and student services are used frequently in the institution. As a member of the institution for a longtime, I can say that I use and reuse the current data and the data from archive to follow my actions and implementations as well as student progress results and evaluation of the department.
SAP is used with the governmental archive, Human Resources data and most commonly with the learning management systems throughout the Institution. Moodle and now LMS is integrated with SAP t be able to follow the course content, student data and employee data in detail. The use of all these software within the SAP is a user-friendly experience.

A university is a body which has very different departments and needs. That's why, a higher education context is actually a very suitable context for SAP use. Instructors and students can use it even as a learning management system, while instructors can easily switch to the employee view to see their payments, leaves and other facilities provided by the employer. Human Resources and IT for example can easily communicate with relevant parties with a single software. However, for very small institutions which do not need expansion it may be too much to handle.
