SAP SuccessFactors is used to manage HR, Payroll and Compensation data and related processes as well as analytics.

While SAP SuccessFactors advertises seamless integration with other SAP products, real scenarios are a lot more complex than standard solutions can offer. SAP SuccessFactors also doesn't have a lot of capabilities to integrate with older SAP technologies using standard methods. Custom solutions and custom integrations have to be built in order to mitigate this issue and fulfill business objectives.
The implementation of SAP SuccessFactors Modules usually relies on pre-built workbooks and is supposed to go smoothly if no customization is expected. However, required customization is not always easy to develop and has led to project delays. Moreover, there are still parts of SAP SuccessFactors modules (e.g. Time Modules) not meeting legal requirements, which has led to significant customization and project delays.
SAP SuccessFactors is suited better for the organizations using other SAP technologies.

SAP SuccessFactors is well suited for large-scale organizations, especially with broader SAP footprint. It allows to take a staged or "big bang" approach towards implementation depending on company needs and possibilities. However, it might not be the best approach for smaller companies who are using only part of HR functionality and have tighter budget restrictions.
