Overall Satisfaction with Sigma Computing
Sigma has been great for creating reports of financial data and corresponding visualizations. We've been using it for reporting payment and invoicing data. It helped consolidate the data across multiple data silos.
- Reports on fraudulent transactions.
- Visualizations of sales data.
- SQL queries and reports.
- UI to be a bit more intuitive.
- More self-help navigation guidance.
- Training course on Safari.
- Helped identify sale data gaps.
- Helped identify fraudulent transactions.
- Helped with management reporting.
I'm confident with using SQL but Sigma also provides nice visual way to do things. Using SQL helped me tremendously in analyzing recent problems with fraud and getting started with Sigma quickly.
Without using SQL, I would've struggled through the user interface, but through usage of SQL that I'm so familiar with, I was able to get things done quickly and efficiently.

I have used filters and parameters extensively to be able to filter necessary data. They are helpful but I found that using SQL directly is even easier for me, since I'm already well familiar with this language. The UI is fairly responsive in general, although some times a bit difficult to navigate for the new user.
Very helpful to be able to share your data with other users. Once I created the report that I needed, I wanted to share it with certain people within our team and management. I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to share it. The only thing, the other user also needed editor permissions to be able to play with the data I shared.
Very good to be able to connect it to a large volume of data and visualize it. We were able to consolidate data from multiple data silos using Sigma. This significantly eased the reporting / SQL needs. Otherwise, we'd have to query each silo separately and combine the data, which would've been too time-consuming.
I've used standalone reporting tools in the past, such as Tibco Spotfire and Tableau.
I find Sigma definitely has advantage in terms of sharing / collaboration capabilities.
Since Sigma has web based UI, vs normal Windows UI though that other tools have, it makes it a bit harder to use.
Once you get used to it, it's okay though.
