Overall Satisfaction with SketchUp

We use SketchUp across the entire organization, to meet the project's requirements as drawings markups, change order in the designs and to present to the final client the updates and new landscapes on the construction field of their properties. We encourage our project managers to develop standards using SketchUp and integrate their proposal within the AutoCAD platform.
  • It's easy to learn and manage all the features.
  • In its Pro version has a powerful documentation engine that allows you to track down the project advances.
  • Store and Share on premise drawings and projects with all your team members and clients as well.
  • SketchUp Pro lacks many architectural [requirements] to achieve standardization over the house wizard and wall tools
  • It's limited to perform a specialized texture modeling.
  • Add in can be expensive upon the initial investment.
  • The initial investment can be lower in comparison to Auto Desk solutions almost the 50% of reduction in the budget of first payment.
  • The negative part of SkecthUp is that the specialized Add in to meet project requirements can be cost overwhelming
  • Is a decent option to present drafts and non advanced projects for construction developments and IT facilities
  • Autodesk 3ds Max, Sketchfab and Blender
SketchUp meets the intermediate to advanced business needs, setting the right assessment you can take advantage using the latest add in to fit the pro needs of a singular segment in the project or just to get the most from using one tool, instead of the other apps SkecthUp has a large field of options.
SketchUp is suitable to present drawings with the intermediate to advance specs details and it fits great for the sales team that will present portfolios to new potential clients.

I do not recommend SketchUp to set a complex project proposal in the construction fields or in the IT infrastructural segment.
