Overall Satisfaction with SmartRecruiters

  • AOL's ATS for all applicants
  • It is used globally
  • Every recruiter and hiring manager in every site across our global network

Pros

  • It has good mobile functionality
  • You don't need a resume to apply; you can apply using a Linkedin profile
  • You can schedule interviews and track this via the tool

Cons

  • Limited data reporting capability
  • Lack on willingness to create better functionality through bespoke requests
  • Very poor search functionality
  • Does not have the ability to talent pool/pipeline candidates effectively
  • Cannot link to all job boards and therefore skews 'source of hire' reporting functionalilty
  • Centralised help desk is very 'tech heavy' and forgets that we are customers and need to use our language and not theirs
  • Candidate name search is not intuitive
  • Lack of ability to pipeline candidates therefore misses out on our strategic objectives
  • Is a visible tool for hiring managers and therefore enables them to collaborate/own the recruitment process
  • Has limited data/reporting functionality which prohibits HR dashboard vision
SmartRecruiters is great for bulk recruitment activities. Tt's easy to sort large volumes of candidates and send bulk messages to groups, eased by the fact that you can segment them easily by the stage they are in the process. The fall down is the more strategic side - being able to effectively pipeline candidates; effectively search candidate names and then place into talent pools.

    Dear Gareth, Thank you for taking the time to review us and for your candid feedback. Sorry it has taken us so long to respond. We take your feedback very seriously, and have actually made some serious improvements based on what you and some other customers have said. Smartrecruiters’ key mission is to provide all of our customers with the ultimate candidate and internal user experience. There has been many updates since your review in 2016! Including better research and reporting: as of Spring 2018, updates include some new candidate filters (you can search by status, candidate fields, or by recruiter), and we now have user management filters (you can configure and search you user base easily instead of having to scroll down until finding what you need). Also, regarding the ability to pipeline candidates effectively you can now see in your job’s profile which stages the candidates are in: In-Review, Interview, Offered, Hired, All Active, Leads, Withdrawn and Rejected. Admins can also download their candidate pipeline data in a .csv report right from the current and historical candidate pipeline analytics pages. I know you did not have the best experience with SmartRecruiters, but I’m confident that with our product updates and improvements based on your feedback, we could really turn that around.
