Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds IP Address Manager (IPAM)

We use IPAM to manage our entire IP infrastructure leveraging DNS and DHCP. IPAM is our main IP repository used to manage and monitor DNS, DHCP scopes, and reserve static IP addresses.
  • Monitor DHCP scopes.
  • Manage IP infrastructure.
  • Alert on any critical events.
  • Better integration with NPM - would be nice if clicking on an IP address opened the node information.
  • Shared custom properties between NPM and IPAM.
  • Ability to import/add multiple nodes.
  • IPAM provides vital IP infrastructure monitoring and alerting.
  • Provides centralized IP Address Management.
  • Helps leverage costs of network expansion and upgrades.

SolarWinds IP Address Manager (IPAM) is well suited in managing the IP infrastructure - it brings together DHCP and DNS records, allows manual reservation and management of IP addresses, and is able to generate all kinds of alerts and reports. It's not intended to be used as an asset management tool, although it can be with help of Custom Properties that could be added and populated manually.
