Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds IPAM

SolarWinds IPAM is being used across our entire organization to help keep track of all our IP addresses.

We use it to manage all our VLANs so that each department has an idea of which IP addresses are in use and which they can use. Very helpful at capturing all the IP address throughout multiple departments.

  • Devices need a default gateway to get captured
  • Have to manually enter some device information
  • Less conflicts on network addressing.

We looked at setting up the IPAM Role within Microsoft Server but it did not work to the scale that SolarWinds IPAM could Support.

There is a lot more information that SolarWinds IPAM gives you. The software helps to give a visual layout of your network and can also tell you the last time that the devices were connected. We had a hard time navigating the Microsoft Server version.

Very good at managing network IP Addresses across an organization. Really helpful when having separate network segments.

We use it to manage all our different VLANs. It is very helpful in finding out which IP Addresses we can use for our SAN environment.

It is also very insightful in tracking all the IP addresses so that we can tell how many IP addresses are used in a specific subnet.
