Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager

We use it to archive the configurations for 30 switches and Cisco ASA firewalls. The problem it addresses is having a historical backup for each managed network device on our network.

Pros

  • Collecting configs
  • Easy to use
  • Works well with Cisco products

Cons

  • Scripting interface
  • Ability to roll back changes
  • Ability to review previous configurations to copy to other devices that need to be configured in a similar fashion.
Any network with a lot of managed network devices that have very complex configurations.
