Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor

We use SolarWinds to monitor our servers in our data centers and alert the techs when there is a problem.

Pros

  • Alerting, it does a great job of letting our techs know when there is a problem and the severity of it.
  • We use Netpath to monitor a path to a monitored server and look for issues along that path
  • We use it to monitor our wireless infrastructure.

Cons

  • I would like to see the web interface respond faster, at times it can become sluggish.
  • It has had a positive impact as I said before. We use it when we know we have a problem and have several IT groups blaming each other for the issue. It has allowed us to drill down and figure out the issue.
We have used it for about 8 years and have looked at other products but nothing compares to the flexibility and the new modules that come out with your products.
Well suited for monitoring servers/devices when they go up or down. Would like to see the mapping expanded a bit more.
