Overall Satisfaction with Oracle SQL Developer

Congratulations for SQL Developer, this is an amazing tool which saves me a lot of work and can be compared with professional classic tools like TOAD. For accessing our databases Oracle SQL Developer is a very popular tool in our company. It being available for free, it is also capable of interfacing with SQL Server. It is very simple to use and provides a great value to all the departments.

  • Very intuitive user interface
  • Easy Data Manipulation Language operations like inserts, updates, and deletes.
  • It highlights the syntax errors
  • Some queries are not stable
  • No machine learning features
  • Difficult to terminate a running query.
  • Easy to connect to various schemas
  • Easy installation, great features
  • Unstable when query is taking a longer time
I use many tools hand in hand. As an analyst I cannot rely on Toad, but I rely more on SQL developer. Moreover, SQL developer has many featues like easy reporting, any kind of queries and more. But mostly, I use SQL Developer for it's features to free cost ratio.
They need to improvise on extraction of data. It is really a great tool for any type of SQL queries. It can be used for custom queries and reports. This being free, it has a lot of features compared to other non-free tools. Hence, I would always want to use SQL Developer.
