Overall Satisfaction with Oracle SQL Developer

SQL Dev is being used in different projects since I'm working for a Consultant Company, it's totally related to the project requirements. It's so helpful to manage and query all the DWH instances and the database themselves.

Pros

  • Great Activity Monitoring
  • Great Management of Databases and Objects on the instance
  • Great Query Optimization module

Cons

  • Machine Learning Functionalities
  • Auto-format of the code
  • Resource Management
As i said the decision of using sql dev is totally independent from my will, it's related to project need. I can say that besides Oracle and SAP HANA, sql has a faster learning curve, but SAP HANA is actually more optimized in performances.
Well suited for management of dwh both in small than in big sizes. Not really suitable for Big Data Management.
