Overall Satisfaction with StarWind Virtual SAN
We use it as a VSAN for Hyper-V Clusters. We originally had 2 2012 R2 Clusters and are now migrating to Server 2019. We needed a SAN that could deliver different performance tiers, be highly available, scalable, and adapted to our size and budget. We built our own nodes and validated the HW choices with StarWind support.
- Simple to configure and manage.
- Our choice of hardware.
- High availability, with separate nodes allowing for easy maintenance.
- Easy to tier, creating fast or cheap storage and letting us use what we have or exactly what we need.
- Better performance on storage-separated mode.
- It let us grow our storage in performance and size every time we needed it.
- It kept everything running with no downtimes.
HPE margin on SSDs was too high at the time and we couldn't evolve our storage the way we wanted.
