Overall Satisfaction with StarWind Virtual SAN

We use StarWind vSAN as two node HA solution. My older colleagues have been using it for 5 years and it was mostly used as a data store for saving all workloads. Now, we've purchased a new license and we plan to use it as VMs storage. So far, we have deployed a dozen virtual machines and set up high availability without any hassle.
  • Storage mirroring. This means that you always have at least one copy of the data in case of failure of one of the hosts.
  • Price is much more affordable than competing products.
  • Saves space in the rack and you don't need to spend money to purchase additional hardware storage.
  • You don't need 3rd host as a witness to gain HA.
  • They should work on the GUI to improve visualization.
  • Better reporting service from the software itself.
  • Possibility of sending email notifications.
  • As we are a fast-growing company, we need to constantly upgrade the hardware. StarWind allows us to do this in a cheap and affordable way without having to buy branded disks.
I give them a rating of 10 because they deserve it. There were certain problems during the initial set up but they resolved them promptly, and what is most important is that they were always available. The worst thing is when something is not working well and support doesn`t want to answer your calls or emails.

Works very well with vMotion technology on ESXi hosts so maintaining data and virtual machines is very simple and secure and you don't have to fear for data loss. It is a great solution for businesses that don't have a large IT budget but still want secure and highly accessible work environment.
