Overall Satisfaction with Symantec Endpoint Protection

The software is being used by all departments in the organization with Standard Technical Support by the vendor.

Pros

  • The cloud version worked well
  • Application Control is available for different users
  • Virus definitions are always updated

Cons

  • Long time to complete the scan process - RAM consumed during the scan process is very high
  • When rebooting Windows in "safe mode"...some protections are disabled (ex: Pendrive access)
  • Annual renewal price (compared with other options)
  • Avoided data theft by blocking access to USB drives (uncalculated value)
  • Has eliminated virus problems on the intranet
  • Breadth of services
  • Pre-existing relationships
The virus definitions are updated and the scan process is effective but too much RAM memory is necessary. Depending on the company size maybe it is better to search for a cheaper option.
