Use Cases and Deployment Scope

The Okta Identity Cloud is being used across the entire organization, including all staff, faculty and students. It allows us to integrate single sign on across our most used applications as well as use multi factor authentication. It provides a seamless and user friendly experience to all our users, which is ideal for us to provide a positive user experience while providing a secure authentication process.

Customer First Team

We had a specific issue relating to a web application and the cookie authentication it was supplying to the browser. We were able to work closely with The Okta Identity Cloud customer support team in addressing the issue. The escalated to the product development team who engaged with us to fix the issue in a later release of The Okta Identity Cloud.

Reliability

We have had no service interruptions to The Okta Identity Cloud since our implementation. We have become to rely on its stability and expect nothing but a consistent remarkable uptime as stated.

Alternatives Considered

We evaluated Microsoft Identity Manager prior to selecting The Okta Identity Cloud. We found that The Okta Identity Cloud was a more robust solution and more widely accepted with our software applications. The Okta Identity Cloud also included the provisioning and deprovisioning of user accounts more seamlessly with less human involvement. Multifactor authentication was also a bonus when comparing with other solutions that required a separate MFA solution.

Likelihood to Recommend

We have setup an automated user account provisioning with The Okta Identity Cloud. Its does a good job of processing for our onboarding and ID management user accounts in conjunction with our active directory environment. It also is a seamless integration with other third party applications and works well with their SAML security.
