Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are leveraging capabilities of OKTA in federating Internal and External Applications with SSO using SAML 2.0, Open ID Connect etc. We also manage access policies and enforce MFA sign on polcies via Okta. Okta also helps in identity lifecycle management , access provisioning and deprovisioning via OKTA workflows. Okta workflows are another way to automate several tasks within Okta.

Yes, We were benefitted because as the organizations grow there are high changes they try new SAAS apps and have multi cloud presence. In such scenarios Okta is the best suited platform which helps easy integration without much hassle.

Customer First Team

Okta support is good, they were able to provide solutions to our issues within the time frame. I am yet to go through their trainings and certifications to comment on that aspect.

Reliability

Yes we have observability setup internally too and it meets 99% uptime criteria 99% of the time so its highly available solution and hardly created any impact to our employees and Customers.

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Entra ID

We have used Azure Entra ID which sometimes lacks compatibility with new SAAS apps and also not so easy to manage user access provisioning and deprovisioning like Okta. Also I believe managing sign-on policies are easy in Okta as comparison to Azure AD.

Okta Identity Cloud is Perfect for SSO integrations, Easy and supported by most of the vendors. Also they are supporting Auth zero and fastpass, passwordless login which again helping organizations in staying ahead in the game. They are providing several such features which would help securing Okta tenant in all ways.
