Overall Satisfaction with Titan

Currently, we are using it for our emergency messaging system and for our Covid-19 prescreening that all the students and employees need to fill out daily. The Director of Communications is the main "user" on the app, but our school nurse and admin assistant also use it for the Covid-19 screen feature.
  • The app is extremely easy to use.
  • It has been a very useful tool when we have had a couple of emergencies on campus.
  • It has kept our parents, faculty, and staff informed immediately during an emergency situation.
  • The only thing would be to change some of the COVID-19 prescreen features.
  • Text messaging has been very important to us since the text goes out immediately. Our previous system was spotty and not everyone got the text!
  • The text and email messaging is so simple with the app or on the web portal.
  • When we sent out the information it is sent instantaneously.
  • Titan has been critical multiple times this school year when we least expected we would need it. I am a huge proponent of the Titan App
We used Blackboard Connect previously and it's a terrible product for communications. I am so glad we left it.

Aside from COVID-19, we had to close the school down 3 times this school year due to smoke (bad air) and a piping issue. Titan was able to get our messaging out immediately and we were able to make sure no one showed up to school when we sent out a text message and email message early that morning. We have been able to mitigate issues by communicating effectively with our families and staff.

Using Titan

4 - Some of our administrative team uses Titan, but this is only a segment of the team.
1 - The Director of Communications is the main person who supports Titan for
the entire school. The Director of Communications works with Titan to
ensure that the information is synced daily and annually with our
system. The Director of Communications setups of preset Broadcast
messages and maintains the overall system.

  • It is not only a notification system it can help in case of a situation on campus during school hours.
  • It helps us keep in contact with our employees, parents and students when we need to communicate with them
  • With Covid-19 Titan had created a pre-screening form that we were able to implement and utilize for an entire school year.
  • We haven't activated it yet, but we have the ability to use Geo-location through the app.
Titan has enabled us to quickly and effectively communicate with our constituents. We have used Titan when we need to get an important message out or when we have had a crisis. It has worked extremely well and Titan has provided a top-notch product. The app is extremely easy to use and the web interface is also very simple to use. Additionally, we have made requests to enhance the product and every time a suggestion has been made, Titan has listened. There were two critical updates they were able to make this year, that has made sending messages out a lot easier. We had requested our school name be used when messages were sent out, not our own personal names. So now when I send a community-wide message, it is sent from the school and not one specific person.

Evaluating Titan and Competitors

Yes - We were using Blackboard Connect. Blackboard might work for some schools, but we found the web and app interface to be clunky, difficult to use, and not user-friendly. There were also times when we sent out text messages and the texts never made it to the parents because of their phone service provider. With Titan, that isn't an issue.

We wanted something that had the features we needed and was priced well. Titan had all the features we needed at the time and were competitively priced. It was an easy decision to switch over. They are also local to where our school is and that also made it a great choice.
We initially evaluated Titan back in 2017. A lot had changed for both our school and Titan. We purchased Titan over the summer of 2020 during the height of the pandemic. Even now, I would not change much about the process for selecting Titan. We knew what we needed and Titan's product fulfilled our needs.

Titan Implementation

Titan told me what they needed on their end to upload the information and I was able to provide them with the data. Our account rep hosted a training for all our faculty and staff so everyone was comfortable using it. It was very straightforward.
Change management was a small part of the implementation and was well-handled
  • Overall, the implementation was fairly seamless

Titan Support

I have only needed to use Titan Support once or twice, but I was able to get my issues resolved quickly and on the same day. Support and my account rep are always there if I need assistance. They are very focused on customer service.

Using Titan

I have found the app and the web interface extremely easy to use. It is also easy for my colleagues to use even if they don't use it often.

  • In case of an emergency any faculty or staff member can utilize and SOS message
  • The broadcast messaging is very simple to create and send, even if you haven't work with it before.
  • It is fairly easy to maintain contacts in the system. We have a data shuttle refreshing our data daily.
  • Overall it's pretty easy.
  • Maybe we had to do some leg work on the initial setup, but overall it's been simple to use and setup.
Yes - It's a mobile app that has a very easy interface and is simple to use.
