Overall Satisfaction with Toad for Oracle
Our department uses Toad to interact with our databases and to write SQL scripts. It is used across the entire IT department. Toad provides many ways for us to interact directly with our database.
- Ability to Interact with multiple database connections from the same interface.
- A multitude of tools to run scripts and explore the database.
- A useful output interface that displays query results.
- Syntax validation could use some work. It appears this was addressed in an update but the new version has not been pushed out yet.
- Toad uses an enormous amount of RAM, memory efficiency could be improved.
- Toad does not format well to smaller screen sizes, such as a laptop.
- It has handled our database needs as a department all under one tool which saves us time.
- The functionality allows us to interact with the database quickly and perform a lot of needed operations.
Toad is a robust tool that can perform many database functions. It stacks up well to the competition. I have previously interacted with databases via command line and Toad's graphical interface is a major advantage.
