Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365
We used Veeam Backup for MS365 to backup our O365 mailbox and OneDrive data. MS does not have a native backup for O365, so we utilize Veeam Backup to handle this for us. We back up our data to MS Azure and then replicate it to another location for Disaster Recovery. It helps facilitate quick restores on deleted emails and in some cases compliance email searches.

- Could use improvement for offboarded mailboxes. If a mailbox is offboarded and we do a final backup, if we ever needed to perform a restore, it could take a bit to locate what date the backup was taken

MS does not have a native way to back up your O365 mailboxes and One Drive data. This was a gap for us when needing to perform restores. We evaluated a few different vendors, but Veeam was the clear choice in price, ease of use, and our familiarity with the product.
Luckily we have not had to deal with any serious type of attack or restore, but Veeam backup gives us a sense of relief knowing we are covered. We had a situation where an email was deleted from a user's mailbox, we went into Veeam, located the most recent backup, searched for the email, and restored it within 10 minutes.
We currently leverage restore to a location and then allow the user to verify and import back into their mailbox. If there was a large chunk of data deleted, say for a specific date range, we would restore it directly to the end-users mailbox.
Restore directly to mailbox Backup Onedrive and sharepoint data
Carbonite. We use Veeam for our VM backup and offload to Azure and it works well. Our familiarity with Veeam and easy-to-use interface was the reason we went with Veeam.
