Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365

We just adopted Office 365 in our environment. It is a big step for the company I am working for; we used to be 100% on-prem company. For on-prem exchange, we are using Veeam Backup & Replication. We like how it has been backing up. That's why we select Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 as well. It will be used across the whole organization and also will help us to retain one copy of data as backup off Microsoft Cloud Storage.
  • Easy to set up and configure.
  • It can store data on premises or in the cloud.
  • Recovery is easy and flexible.
  • It is still early for us to tell what Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 needs to improve. We just adopted O365 and are still in the process of migrating. Once we are on the Cloud, we should have more insight on pros and cons.
  • Compared to other vendors, Veeam is charging a fairly decent rate for licenses.
As stated, we used to be 100% on-prem; we would like to obtain a copy of backup even it is from Cloud. We were already using a Veeam product, would like to have single platform to backup data from cloud as well.
Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 is easy to use. On Veeam portal, there are lots of resources on how to do things and demo videos. Also, Veeam user group is pretty helpful as well.
To be able to recover data quickly is one of the reasons we selected Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365. Fortunately, we have not had a request to perform the above task yet.
We like the flexibility for data recovery. When we are using Veeam Backup & Replication, we are able to retrieve email items instead of restore entire mailbox or database. Fortunately, we have not had a need to restore data yet. However, this feature will benefit us when we need to perform the above action.
We like how we can control backups. It is easy to set up different RPO for different groups of users or department[s]. Also, we like the flexibility of recovery. There are many different options that we can restore our data to. Recover to another cloud, on-prem and also to different formats as well.
We like that Veeam is hosting many seminars demo frequently. We see this is as part of support as well; to train users and to answer questions. For Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365, we have not have a need open a support case. However, from other Veeam product support, Veeam is doing very well.

Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 is good for our environment as we were already using Veeam Backup & Replication. The GUI is fairly straightforward. Also, there is a pretty good Veeam user community for sharing experience and tricks/tips.
