Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Veeam Backup & Replication v11 to back up all of our data in AWS. We store backups in S3 buckets or Glacier for archiving. It was pretty easy to set up and the restoration process so far as gone quickly and without issue. We are not using Veeam to back up any local data at this time. We are only using it for AWS EC2 instances and EBS volumes.

We currently use VB&R for approximately 20 Windows and Linux VMs in our AWS environment. This is right on par with what we expected to use it for.

Needs Assesment

Our organization needed an affordable backup solution for our AWS workloads that was reliable. Veeam seems to be one of the leaders in the industry and it seems to be for good reason. It was also important that the product was easy to set up and use and so far it has met expectations.

Cloud Capabilities

We use this product exclusively for AWS workloads in the cloud, including Windows and Linux servers and EBS volumes. So far, the product has done everything it has promised and we have been happy with it. Ease of use is a big selling point in my opinion. Restores have gone great so far.

Likelihood to Recommend

I have only used Veaam Backup & Replication v11 within AWS and specifically EC2. We have used it for almost a year now (including the trial period) and it has been able to handle what we needed for simple backup and restore. The pricing is surprisingly affordable for licensing. I would recommend it for managing EC2 and EBS backups.
