In our industry, compliance and regulation are paramount, so ensuring our data is backed up in accordance with the rules and regulations of several federal department is mandatory. The need has always been there, but the mechanism is a choice. Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 fit all the right notches. The steps were simply to engage with our VAR and let them handle the process, then about an hour or two of integration by myself.
Simply put:
- easy to use
- set it and forget it, minimal management
- fairly intuitive GUI, but I still think it could use a little fine tuning
- logging is concise and easy to understand
- alternative geolocations maintained in separate sites to keep data segregated per requirements
Due to NDAs and compliance policies, I am unable to disclose any such information in a public forum. Suffice it to say that as with any organization, data is lost from time to time and Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 has made it incredibly quickly, easy and effectively to restore the list data in our environment.

SyncBackPro required on prem software and extra management, and while it was VERY inexpensive (just $50-$60 I think?), once we saw Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 demonstrated, we just didn't want to even look at other products - it just seemed like the right fix for us. To be honest, it just seems like the right fit for ANYONE that uses M365.
Support was easy to work with, although we did have to wait a while for support to complete a request for engaging new geolocations in our M365 tenant. Other than that one incident, support has been responsive and effective. Veeam support as a whole is pretty decent.
