Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform
We use Veeam Data Platform for backup and recover. The product is fantastic , it's easy to use , comprehensive, reliable and it cover our needs. It solve problems with several topics: Accidental file deletion: Veeam Data Platform allows us to recover to a point in time a file that was been deleted or wrongly modified. Restoring machines : Veeam Data Platform allows us to recover also whole machines if needed. It also helps that you can set up email notifications so you know how your backups are going. You also have Veeam Data Platform ONE so you can create reports of the current state of your repositories , when those will be out of space , the backups you make etc... To resume Veeam Data Platform is a great software and it covers basic needs.

It's what we expected. Before getting Veeam Data Platform we analize the needs to see what we will need to backup up and the number of license needed for that. Currently we have a mixed workloads being backup up , virtual , physical and also NAS files. The good thing is that if infrastructure gets bigger you can increase your license workloads.

Other backup solutions that we tried were not that complete as Veeam Data Platform , harder to use , and didn't have the flexibility that Veeam Data Platform offers. The triggering action was a need for a more complex software to immutability ability , and backup copy in order to follow the 3,2,1 rule of backups.
Veeam Data Platform improved over years the cloud repositories target and also got their own repository option now. This is very important because it gives us the flexibility to choose different cloud providers to store backups for disaster recovery this way we can benefit of having more options to choose from. So we benefitted from this feature.
We did benefit from this capability because this was one of the features we needed. Veeam Data Platform allows to backup File-Share consuming one license per each 500gb of file share you backup. This is particulary useful because sometimes you only need to backup files on File-Share so you can restore fast if needed.
We also used Windows Server image backup , which is the integrated backup solution on Windows Servers. It works , but it's a integrated backup solution on the Windows rather than a specific software like Veeam Data Platform. It lacks a lot of features that Veeam Data Platform have and are much needed nowadays (Immutability, backup copies...)
