Veeam Data Platform is an easy to use backup solution!

Veeam Data Platform is used as my primary backup utility. I use it across all of my servers, whether Windows or Linux in a VMWare environment. It allows me to encrypt my backups, duplicate my data and connect to cloud providers. I've been using this platform for over 10 years now, they are continuously improving the product.

I have about 30 servers Veeam Data Platform backs up, the majority of them are windows, some are Linux. It does a great job with both of them. The compression is great, it's the type of product I can set and forget. I do monthly tests on random VM backups to ensure it's operating as expected.

The former backup solution was purchased by another company, the licensing and support were not favorable. We switched to Veeam Data Platform and are happy with the result. I would highly recommend this product no matter how small or large your data center is. It was easy to install and didn't require agents on any VMs.

We aren't currently using cloud backup, we have servers in multiple locations. Veeam Data Platform copies the backup to those respective servers. From the documentation, it does appear to be easy to connect to a cloud provider. We may look at this at some point in the future, but for now are needs are met.

We have been using this feature for a while, it makes backing up and restoring files a breeze. It's easy to restore back to the original location or put the file in a different spot. The file restoration process is generally pretty quick depending on the hardware resources available. I've been able to restore entire VMs in about 20 minutes.
