Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform
We utilize Veeam Data Platform for backup of our Hyper-V infrastructure of approximately 30 servers. We chose this product over our former for the restore speeds and sandbox features. Restoring machines has been quick and Veeam Data Platform has strengthened our posture for DR. We will be adding M365 backup when our license renews.

We currently protect approximately 30-40 Virtual machines, a file server, several SQL servers, and all the hosts. We are utilizing the cluster-aware feature within Veeam Data Platform and it has been a lifesaver when VMs move from host to host.
- Expedient DR was invaluable and minimized downtime from up to a year to recover all systems to a couple of weeks to recover nearly all systems.
The former provider was clunky and did not have the granular feature set that Veeam Data Platform does, such as cluster-aware backups and automated recovery testing. It would take days to recover a machine and in some cases a new server had to be stood up before data could be recovered into it to make it functional. Veeam Data Platform has shorted that time significantly and we have not had to rebuild anything as with the previous product.
At this time, we have not utilized the cloud protections. We will be adding some of this functionality when our license renews later this year.
We use the file-share to protect our file server data for quick file location and restore without having to recover from the full server backup.
We selected Veeam Data Platform for cost effectiveness and more granular control over this piece of our DR plan. The capabilities to be flexible, do automated restore testing, easy recovery, and cost were all deciding factors in utilizing the Veeam Data Platform.
