Overall Satisfaction with Viewpoint Vista

We use Viewpoint for all reporting for financials, labor, invoices, etc.
  • Job forecasting
  • Job Costing
  • Performance analysis
  • Project Site is a mess, it does not work nearly as well as Procore
  • It isn't easy to find exactly what report you are looking for, the module based system appears outdate.
  • Not sure I can speak to this as the company moved to Viewpoint before I began here. I think it is helpful for the Project Management and Superintendent staff to easily review how specific job items went, which we do in the PM contract drilldown analysis
The move from Procore to Project Site has been painful. It feels like Project Site is still in Beta testing and should not have been rolled out to paying businesses. Our superintendents and foreman in the field want to move away from Project Site and back to Procore. One even offered the idea of everyone chipping in $10/week to make their lives easier and help pay for the difference in cost. The zoom-in feature on plans is a problem because it skips ahead to the next page. User interface on uploading plans is difficult since they have to be broken out by division. Procore does not do this.
Being able to review time and productivity quickly allows us to have conversations regarding the performance of projects. If we are missing something in terms of real-time connectivity it would likely be because we haven't been made aware of it. Feel free to reach out to me if this is the case.
It's been a while since I've used this, but I found JD Edwards completely cumbersome and like a database that hadn't been updated in 10-15 years. I much prefer Viewpoint and I think that Viewpoint still has the ability to improve on its user interface.

On-Screen Takeoff, Procore, Foxit PDF Editor (FoxitPhantom)
Best for job forecasting and project analysis. Being able to export into excel is a great feature. Logging in to Viewpoint is slow and burdensome, if there was a way to speed up this process that would be preferrable. The invoice review system works adequately as well, but I feel like the interface could be more user friendly. Viewpoint is not intuitive so any way to make it more like using an iPhone or another device we use daily would help new users become more proficient.
