Overall Satisfaction with Vista by Viewpoint

We use Vista by Viewpoint for a number of situations by various departments in Great Basin Industrial. Accounting uses Vista to track and report all of the data that is used for decision making. On the operations side, our remote office managers and their staff use Vista to enter in and track information that is pertinent to their departments.
  • Reports and report manipulation.
  • Organization of modules.
  • Customization of data entry programs.
  • Speed in loading programs (which may be a non-issue with current updates).
  • The ability (or lack of such in some cases) to interface easily with products that Viewpoint doesn't sponsor.
  • Customer service was poor in some cases but appears to be making special improvements.
  • Cash flow has improved.
  • Profit margins have improved.
  • Lead times have improved.
Vista by Viewpoint easily outperforms QuickBooks. We used QuickBooks when we first started as a company and probably stayed with them for too long before switching to Vista. The sophistication of the software has been a key factor in the rapid expansion of Great Basin Industrial. As such, we frequently need custom reports which we have the ability to create.
When we first started to use Vista by Viewpoint, customer support was decent. We had no issues then. However, customer support steadily began to falter. May of our issues would be "resolved" by customer support but in reality the issues would persist. We do have a hopeful outlook on customer support improving because a new customer support manager has been hired and has a much different approach to customer support.

Construction management definitely can benefit from Vista when trying to make the best, most informed decisions. Accounting folk seem to like Vista because of the customization possibilities and the sophistication of the software. Remote offices are better linked to corporate offices and, with a user's ability to go to the cloud, will steadily become better.
