Overall Satisfaction with Vista by Viewpoint

We utilize Vista throughout the entire organization to managing our GL, AP, AR, EM, JC, JB, PM, HR, IM and UD. We have been using Vista with integration to our field data capture for over 5 years. Vista gives ample methods for getting external data into the application, which is very useful during initial setup as well as ongoing integration.
  • Vista's batch processing method makes it simple to locate issues and identify the root cause.
  • Customization with the core product, and more so with the UD module, are simple, maintainable throughout the upgrades and virtually self documenting.
  • Support for more complex issues could be addressed faster.
ComputerEase was pretty old technology. Input screens were clunky. Application customization required consulting to get involved as well as report modifications. Utilizing some kind of proprietary database put all the maintenance back on the software manufacturer. Promises of porting the application to SQL Server database went on and on for multiple years with no progress evident.
The majority of the time support is excellent. Occasionally, the wait times for a return call on a support ticket can be extreme. But, there is always an escalation path available once you have proved you are worth (or entitled) to support.

The multi-warehouse inventory control is very complete and well suited for tracking varying inventory costs across multiple locations. One thing we track is the footage on each reel of cable in inventory; while Vista will not do this standard, we are working with professional services to add the enhancement/extension.
