Overall Satisfaction with Volusion

Used to establish an online retail store for products imported from Israel.
  • Customer service and tech support are great - I needed a lot of it as I taught myself how to use it.
  • Very affordable.
  • Interface with Ebay is cumbersome and not customizable.
  • More variety with page designs.
  • Building in SEO is cumbersome also. Have to type in keywords, tags, etc. individually.
  • Initial set up costs were recouped within first year of sales.
  • Gave company a second income stream from inventory already in our warehouse.
  • Allowed us to "test the waters" for a retail site without a huge upfront investment.
We use Yahoo for our wholesale division and I found it to be very difficult to use and their customer support was terrible.

In comparison, we selected Volusion for our retail web store because it was much more intuitive, gave us more design options and the customer support was great.
I am not with the company any more but I know that the site is working well for them. If I wanted to get my own site up I would definitely use Volusion.
Very well suited for companies that don't have a web designer who can customized their store but need something already designed.

Also very well suited for "beginners" like myself who have to learn as they go.

Good for companies that are on a limited budget and are willing to forgo flexibility with the visual and branding side of the site in exchange for cost and ease of use.

Great for companies that have in house staff who develop and manage the site along with other duties.
