Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security

I use WatchGuard Network Security as my main security firewall. It is essential for controlling all permisions an access to the internet of all users in the companie by filtering and granting specific navigation rules to the internet. It helps me to connect with tecnology service providers with secure easy to setup VPNs.

Pros

  • Branch office VPN Tunnels are very easy to setup.
  • Firewall rules are very specific and easy to setup to controll internet access.
  • Mobile VPN software is light and easy to setup and run with end users.
  • Network configurations and NAT are very easy to setup and implement.

Cons

  • I will like to see more improvments in filtering the firebox system manager's traffic monitor.
  • The bandwidth meter needs more improvments with filtering multiple networks in the same firewall.
  • It needs a really good sniffering tool when looking for network issues.
  • Positively it is very good cost and our company.
The only thing I could say is that you should be really sure of how many users you will have working with WatchGuard to calculate the correct option of use. This to prevent overdimentionated equipment for the company needs. The VPN tunnel connects easey to any other firewall brands and it only needs to have clear knoledge of vpn tunnels to setup the solution.
It really ase benefited our company by consolidating all features and capabilities in just one license purchase/renewall. By having all packed in one appliance it makes purchase desition easy to take. When the license is renewed it enables all options and features in one single instalation. It makes IT managment easier.

It cost is very good. It is easy to set up and go and it is very flexible in any scenario where we need firewall, NAT services, VPN for users and VPN tunnels.
