Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security
It is our Firewall, we also use it for Branch Office VPN's so all sites can connect to one other, and we use VPN with Authpoint for MFA to VPN in
- Updates
- No access unless you create a rule to allow it
- Geo Blocking, IP Blocking
- VLAN's
- DHCP
- DNS Forwarding
- When trying to access from external side and no rule is set to allow connection, you get a SSL sign in page. I would rather I just got a 404 error or some other message stating the site is not available
- Cost, for business its not to bad. But for home use it is too much
- Geolocation Blocking has been amazing, I checked the stats and on average we have 100,000 hits that are blocked from outside Countries that we do not do any kind of business with.
- Application Control is great as well, we don't want employees watching Netflix and Hulu so instead of URL blocking I App block them. Simple check box.
We worked with Sonit Systems and they were amazing on setup and training so I could take over control.
I have used some of the Unified Security platform just not all of it. From what I have used it is setup well and documentation to use it is easy to follow.
Worked really well as long as you do it in the correct order so each piece talks.
WatchGuard was day and night better then the Cisco ASA we replaced. So much easier to manage and support.
