Overall Satisfaction with WatchGuard Network Security
As a managed service provider, we use WatchGuard Network Security for the firewall for our clients and ourselves. WatchGuard Network Security has a really good partner program for managed service providers which is a major factor in why WatchGuard Network Security was our choice. In addition to WatchGuard's firewall product, we also deploy WatchGuard AuthPoint for Multi-Factor Authentication for VPN.
Pros
- Firewall Product
- Multi-factor authentication for VPN access
- Partner program for MSPs
Cons
- Logging and reporting capabilities
- Client visibility
- Cloud management
- Partner Program is really good
- Firewall product is good
- Reporting and logging leaves some to be desired
WatchGuard Cloud leaves a bit to be desired compared to competitors such as Cisco Meraki. I think there is room for improvement in for cloud management. I would love to see better support for situations where the Firebox is not directly reachable such as in carrier grade NAT situations. Ubiquiti does this really well.
WatchGuard AuthPoint provides a really solid multi-factor authentication solution for VPN access. I find that it's reliable and provides a solid solution. However, WatchGuard Cloud overall could improve on the lack of logging and reporting capabilities for Fireboxes. I would like to also see more resources put into the cloud management features.
