Overall Satisfaction with Webex Events (formerly Socio)

We needed a platform that would allow us to replace paper programs at our convention as well as give us the ability to communicate with them and, at the same time, give the attendees the best user experience possible.
We did our first convention in person with Webex Events (Socio), and it was great. The following year, 2020, we had to quickly make decisions about how to make our convention happen virtually. Webex Events (Socio) made that happen without missing a beat. We were able to host our convention for 1,000+ attendees virtually, all run on the Webex Events (Socio) app. In 2022 when the convention was moved to hybrid, Webex Events (Socio) already had a way for us to do that. The fact that they are able to read the "Meeting" climate and keep up with it is amazing. It really has given us the flexibility to make our convention be anything that we need it to be.

Pros

  • Great Track/Meeting Layout
  • Easy for users to find things
  • On the back end it is very easy to set up

Cons

  • Billing (to have invoices or payments all in one place to pay for the software would be awesome)
  • Chat room for attendees that we can create by subject
  • Metrics are improving but could be slightly better
  • We have been able to save on printing costs
  • The app remains open all year round, so folks who missed out convention are able to browse the agenda and topics
  • Our users are able to view the virtual exhibit hall at any time to continue to explore and visit exhibitors
  • Guidebook
Webex Events (Socio) is more conducive to larger meetings and networking. Guidebook served its purpose when our convention was on a smaller scale, and we didn't need additional functionality. Now that we have grown to a 1,000+ meetings, we need to have those additional features as we have a small staff team, and this allows us to put more information at the fingertips of our users.

This tool is great for any meeting type. It really does lend itself to be customized for any type of meeting. We have used it for multiple tracks so folks can filter our tracks. We have also used it to host a virtual exhibit hall with video rooms to connect exhibitors to attendees face-to-face.
I really don't see a scenario where this could not be used.
