Overall Satisfaction with Whova

As a participating and attending organization at YIMBYtown 2025, Abundant Housing LA made it easy to connect to event managers and planners to discuss events, share resources, and prepare for upcoming engagements. Furthermore, it allowed us to easily stay in contact and exchange information with other event attendees.

Pros

  • Whova allowed me to create my own thread for a topic I care about.
  • Exchanging contact information with people I met is super easy even though it saves the email address as the contact name.
  • The agenda options were helpful is seeing what was available and narrowing down to top options via the ability to double book on my personal agenda.

Cons

  • For my needs, I can't think of anything that falls into this category.
  • My contact list has grown about 20% since attending YIMBYtown 2025, which has facilitated collaborations that strengthen my organization's capacity to meet our goals.
Given how much is available on the app, and my existing technology literacy, I think the usability is perfect and spot on. It has everything you need to attend an event like YIMBYtown. Its a great reference tool, kind of like a park map at Disneyland or something. It does a lot and supports you in navigating what might otherwise be a mess.

Keeping a list of workshops and sessions available on calendar-like function of the app was really key in navigating the engagement opportunities. There were so many options for engagement and I can appreciate that while I wish I didn't have to choose, the maps and session details really helped me focus my intentions for this year's conference. The sessions were tagged with relevant topics which contributed to narrowing down many options into the most anticipated for myself. With so many people around - a very overwhelming situation - it was nice to pull into a corner and plan out my next moves.
