Overall Satisfaction with Windows Server
We currently over 150 Windows servers (a mixture of 2012 R2, 2016 and 2019) and I can comfortably say it is the best product to come out of Microsoft and it keeps constantly evolving to the point that it has become essential in most organizations around the world. Be it file sharing, databases, web servers or app server you can always rely on it.
Pros
- Robustness
- Reliable
Cons
- Ease of deployment
- Deprecate old technologies
- Using Enterprise Licensing with DataCenter licenses has allowed us to deploy multiple servers without having to worry about licenses.
- Be careful with the licensing changes that Microsoft brings about with every new release.
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu Linux
Windows Server is the most Enterprise/Business server around, easy to deploy and configure and to co-exist with other servers. Most if not every other server technology is usually very good for a very specific purpose but fail in the coexistence and integration when compared with Windows Server.
