Overall Satisfaction with Workday Payroll and Workforce Management

When we used Workday Payroll, staff would input their hours worked, and I was responsible for approving their time. As a hiring manager, I also completed Workday Management training to manage the onboarding process for new employees. This included tracking completed tasks, communicating with candidates, contacting references, and monitoring the progress of background checks. I collaborated closely with HR to ensure the entire process was completed smoothly and efficiently.

Pros

  • Collaborate with HR on completed tasks
  • Review and Submit Timesheets for staff
  • Submit personal time off for supervisors to review and approve or decline.

Cons

  • Some flexibility in bypassing required fields that cannot be filled out is needed, as sometimes the answer is truly unknown. You can get stuck in the form until you can answer the required question.
  • Have the option for a light or dark screen mode, especially for mobile app users.
  • Option to customize workflow chart design of the hierarchy of supervisors and staff.
  • More staff felt comfortable using Workday Payroll and Workforce Management to complete tasks
  • Having a mobile app made it possible to submit or approve hours when you're on the go and not at your desk in front of a computer.
  • Because of the mobile app, it made it easier for student worker to submit their time when they are at home.
Workday Payroll and Workforce Management hasn't given me any issues. I love that you can customize your profile with icons, the color scheme, and etc. It makes it feel more personable. In addition, you can customize which icons that you use frequently to complete tasks. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a platform that has high usability and versatility.
Workday Payroll and Workforce Management in my opinion does as great job of letting staff know beforehand what they are going to get paid on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I found that Gusto does not provide that insight. It would be nice though to have a feature in those platforms where you could do a "what if" feature to determine how much you could make if you were single, married, or made a higher salary or lower. This is a feature that I have used in webBASIS, and it was extremely helpful.

Would you buy Workday Workforce Management again?

Yes

When staff were trained to use Workday Payroll and Workforce Management, we underwent thorough training sessions and received printed materials to follow along with on our desktops. The procedures were straightforward, making it easy to navigate the site, especially for supervisors. However, when the system was introduced for college students, it didn’t run as smoothly. Since students were primarily focused on their coursework, they occasionally needed assistance with using Workday Payroll and Workforce Management or had to be directed to the appropriate resource for support.
